The Research Enterprise Applications Group ('Research Apps Group') is responsible for supporting the administrative systems required to manage the Partners biomedical research portfolio. The group’s applications provide the core features necessary for the administration of research throughout Partners – human studies oversight, grants and contracts processing, and animal program management. Those applications include the following:
The InfoEd Suite of products is a the official Partners grants management system used by the Research Management PCRO, Pre, Post, Subcontract and Finance Teams to manage the entire research lifecycle from submission, through award, renewals and closeouts. Features include proposal submission, award management, subcontract issuance, subrecipient monitoring, effort commitments, links to protocols records and electronic storage of research files.
It is a web-based application available upon request to administrators across the system 24-7 to view grant records. It enables investigators, administrators and staff to move more efficiently through each part of the grant and contract process to track its life span.
The Insight Research Portal is a web-based application with more than 9,000 current users developed at Partners with the research community (including investigators, departmental research managers, unit chiefs and administrators) to review, monitor and manage research portfolios. Comprised of ten different modules, Insight's functions cover the broad function of research administration from award management, effort reporting, IRB and IACUC submissions and standard reporting.
The goal of Insight is to unite distributed and complex organizational processes into one application and help alleviate administrative burdens. The portal is also a critical foundation for the distribution of additional business processes planned for automation in the future.
Insight is available for tracking research information to anyone across the community. To learn more about the application, please visit the Insight page. In order to gain access to Insight, a user must have an active Partners network login account. Access is granted based on:
To submit a request, please send an email to insighthelpdesk@partners.org with the network ID of the new user with the module and access level(s) to be granted. If requesting access to an investigator's portfolio, please copy them on the new user request.
Partners Research Ventures and Licensing (RVL) Department utilizes an intellectual property and tech transfer application called Knowligent. This application helps facilitate the management of Intellectual Property, Industry and consulting agreements, Royalty payments, and more across the system. This will allow for more improved reporting and access to information for the research community.
To obtain more information about this application, please send and email to Monica Anderson at moanderson@partners.org.
